Tourism: The Vaucluse
The department of Vaucluse is located in the interior, without opening on the sea. For many, it is here that beats the heart of Provence.

A Provence sculptured in the mountains (Mont Ventoux 1912 m, Dentelles de Montmirail, Monts de Vaucluse and Montagne du Luberon) which offers at the same time immense wild plains and verdant hills or prosperous illustrious vineyards.

Unique in France, 4 villages belonging to the Haut Vaucluse are enclaved in the department of Drôme and thus form the Enclave of the Popes above Vaison la Romaine, next to Bollène.

The southern half of the Vaucluse is occupied by the famous Luberon country, which stretches from Cavaillon to Pertuis, along the course of the Durance and Rustrel to Grambois along the Alpes de Haute Provence.

The villages are charming, ancient and mostly high perched on the rocky Lubéron in the middle of a beautiful nature ... of course.

- LE LUBERON Country of castles, perched villages and steep landscapes, the Luberon is a sought-after, appreciated and celebrated region. The Luberon offers a land bathed in light, prestigious historical and cultural sites to discover.

Previous to Peter Mayle and his best seller "Une Année en Provence", many personalities and VIPs have a second home ... Gordes, Ménerbes, Lourmarin have become over the years high tourist places frequented by an international clientele love of beautiful old stones and the high Provencal gastronomy. But the Luberon is above all a preserved nature, vast forests, cliffs of light ochres and a Natural Park that brings together 67 communes on horseback between the Luberon and the Alpes de Haute Provence.

- COUNTRY OF AVIGNON, SORGUES, COMTAT VENAISSIN AND MONT VENTOUX From the beautiful and festive Avignon in the extreme west to the savage country of Sault in the East, this large part of the department is declined in contrasting decors: oasis of freshness of the Sorgues region (Isle sur la Sorgue, Fontaine de Vaucluse), orchards and vines of Comtat Venaissin (Carpentras, Le Beaucet, Pernes les Fontaines), wheat and lavender from Sault, Mont Ventoux with Bédoin feet, watch like a sentry posted in the middle of the plains and plateaus.

This vast plain is at the head of the national production of many fruits and vegetables. It is also the terroir of the Côtes du Rhône and Côtes du Ventoux wines, the majority of which are classified in AOC. You will discover the wines that contribute to the prestige of our gastronomy: the Châteauneuf du Pape, the famous Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Beaumes de Venise, Séguret or Rasteau ... to name but a few ...

The viticulture is a secular tradition, it is the terroir of the wines of Côtes du Rhône, Côtes du Ventoux and Côtes du Luberon. The majority is classified in AOC, the cru Châteauneuf du Pape participates in this of the region with the famous Gigondas, Vacqueyras and others Rasteau.

- THE HAUT VAUCLUSE (OR THE PROVENCE OF THE POPES) It is a preserved Provence, full of history with the cities of Orange and Vaison la Romaine and surrounded by dense vegetation, forests of oaks and pines.

The Dentelles de Montmirail lend their high peaks, finely chiselled by erosion, to lovers of climbing and climbing. At the bottom of the enclave of the Popes, it is a terroir that smells good truffle (Valréas, Richerenche), lavender, honey and good wine. Nature is strong and authentic, it is respected by the locals.

Here it is the Provence of the love of well-made work and know-how that is handed down from generation to generation. You have understood, you are here in the country good things to eat and drink!
